An internationally renowned classical dancer and choreographer, Janak has trained extensively in 3 distinct dance styles of India- Bharatnatyam, Kathak and Manipuri. His forte is in choreographing works based on rare philosophical subjects that have never been attempted as dance works. His Company has a very extensive repertoire of hundred and thirty works. The current focus of the Company is to develop human understanding through dance by creating dance works based on philosophical subjects that have a universal message. They have performed in multiple cities in Canada & USA and in Mexico City, Singapore, Myanmar and India
Gayatri is a quintessential symbol of living Indian Tradition.
Gayatri – a Mantra from the Rig Veda, the oldest scripture, is about life, light and creation. It is an epithet to the Goddess Durga or Shakti – the Supreme Power and because of its importance and potency; it has permeated the Indian psyche. Although Gayatri, the Mantra has been the breath of Indian people for many centuries, this is the first time it has been created as a dance work.
Painstakingly researched, the treatment blends the ritualistic, the visual and the aural resonance of the recited hymn, in an involved rendition to well arranged music.
