Name : Mr. Harsh Vardhan Shringla
Designation : Consul General, CGI Durban
Harsh Vardhan Shringla joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1984. He last served as Minister in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, New York, where he dealt with political issues.
In addition, he has served in the Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO in Paris; as Consul General of India in Vietnam; at the Indian Embassy in Paris; and as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Israel. He has held the positions of Deputy Secretary [West Europe] and Director [North] in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.
Harsh Shringla is fluent in several languages, including French. He has participated in several international conferences. He is interested in conflict prevention - he has pursued a course at the Columbia University, New York and published a paper on the subject in the Indian Journal of International Law. He graduated with honours from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.
Before joining the Indian Foreign Service, Harsh Shringla worked in both the private [Brooke Bond India, a part of the Unilever Group] and public sectors [Air India, Mumbai] in India. |
